Ready to be Hyjacked – Hyjack

It is a newly opened place in Safdarjung about which my friend was bragging a lot so was here for lunch. The place is perfectly set up and spread across 3 storey. We settled on the primary floor because of intense Delhi heat. Each floor has a seating capacity of around 40-50 individuals at a time.

We began with a few mixed drinks LIIT and Bulldog Margarita – Both the cocktails were impeccable, Bulldog Margarita is sufficient for 3 individuals and was around 1 litre. In this scorching heat, these cocktails were acting like a coolant for the body.

Next, we ordered Falafel Puff dumpling – It was served in Golgappas with the dumpling inside the Gol Gappa and we were supposed to eat it whole in one go. The Dumpling was marinated with Mediterranean spices and different dips. A must try.

Painter Palette Veg – This platter was amazing with 2 kinds of Kebabs and a paneer tikka – Dahi Ke kebab – was filled with hung curd and perfectly baked but there was a bit more than the amount of salt neeeded. Paneer Tikka consisted of Big chunks of paneer well marinated with spices and baked nicely. Akhrot palak Ke Kebab – this was a brilliant dish in itself with a flavour of Palak and crunchiness of Akhrot. The platter was flavoursome! Do try it. It is apt for two people.

Quinoa Salad – Though I am not a salad fan, this salad was different from the others with the richness of some masala and varieties of my favourite things. It consisted of pickled beetroot, hazelnut, crunchy lettuce, Kohlrabi ( a variety of cabbage) and feta cheese salad.

Crispy Lotus Stem – Perfectly fried lotus stems tossed in Thai style spicy honey chilli sauce topped with sesame seed. Ordered twice as it was so good. We were 6 people and even the nonvegetarian ones couldn’t resist themselves from devouring these delicious Lotus Stems.

Shiikate Mushroom Croquettes – Deep fried spicy creamy mushrooms stuffed with cheese inside serrved with tasty tangy spice dip. A perfect dish for Mushroom lovers.

Bamee Noodles – I was not expecting much but it totally blew me, The chilli chowmein I would say is a must try if you are craving for some street style noodles.

Saag Paneer Combo consisted of a portion Palak paneer served with Dal Makhani and Maida paratha. Dal Makhani was creamy and buttery whereas the palak paneer was top notch. This combo can suffiece two hungry souls.

Dessert – Molten Lava Cake is highly recommended filled with hot chocolate in it, a perfect dessert for a people like me who love sweet. Phirni – Traditional Phirni falooda with mascarpone mousse and chia seed.

The place is perfect in terms of food, service or ambience. The servers were attentive and well behaved and suggested some really good starters, with service on time. Starters, as well as the main course, were very good with good quantity and quality. The place is perfect for partying or for having casual dine out scenes without leaving a hole in your pocket as the menu is pocket-friendly compared to the quality and quantity served.
