This restaurant was on my list for so long and finally on Friday afternoon visited this place with a couple of my friends. One of the finest restaurant in CP for having Italian and my friends who love Italian food from their core, how could they miss it while on the first trip to Delhi. So we crashed in all hungry to dig in the Italian Delicacies.
We were super excited and to our surprise, their Main Chef Suman was at the restaurant checking with the guest about the food. Seeing our excitement Chef helped us in ordering some of the dishes and informed us that there is a SICILIANA Festival is going on till 31st August in which some of the dishes of the Sicily Island located near to Italy will be served.
Talking about the ambience – the place is lit brightly with light (of course natural light) and music beats were putting the charm in the atmosphere. We sat near the bar and near to the kitchen too so that we can have extra hot food (Just kidding).
We started with Antipasti Misti – Antipasti means starters, consisted of Potato Croquettes ( potato with cheese), Roasted peppers ( bell pepper), zucchini which was grilled till perfection ( I never eat zucchini at home nut here I was eating while having the taste – Meri maa ne dkh liya na to roj yehi khilaygi), Artichoke – this was my first encounter with them and believe me it was delicious ( had a whole piece- refer pic what I am saying), olives Arancini – a small ball of rice stuffed with cheese and olives and fried ( had 3) and provolone cheese – a type of Italian cheese.
Bruschetta – Garlic Bread topped with tomatoes, basil with a touch of balsamic. The quality of tomatoes used was very good and like to point out that good restaurants like this take special care of their ingredients. You will always find the raw material used is of high quality.
Cheesy garlic bread with a touch of spices – The bread baked till perfection topped with parmesan cheese – loved it no words to describe this beauty. The soft crispy bread loaded with cheese what one can dream about.
Farrotto – A dish made of Farro grains is a must have, having it for the 2nd time and it was heavenly with a good amount of butter in it and made like Pasta. It had finely chopped vegetables in it.
Wooden oven Pizza – while they were cutting the pizza into slices you can literally hear the breaking sound which was giving the clear indication that it was crispy ( a perfect pizza for me). The toppings were – Mozzarella, broccoli, onions, olives, roasted garlic and fresh basil.
Desserts – Tiramisu, a fine Italian delicacy is a coffee flavoured dessert, layered with a mixture of egg, sugar and cheese. While seating in an Italian restaurant, eating an Italian Delicacy and enjoying the songs what else you want? Sangria?? – Bang on yes. Though it is weird I like it that way.
Chocolate Lasagna with Ice cream – The chocolate cake had layers of white and dark chocolate sheets in between. A dessert which is the class apart was blown up by the first bite, it was heavenly dish it was. A true Italian lover can only understand the joy I had while eating that gorgeous beauty. It was like diving in the pleasure of chocolate bathtub.
The place is absolute bliss for the Italian Lovers, without any doubt you can trust it. The recipes and the preparations are genuine with more on the tanginess side to attract the Indian crowd. But while serving to the Europeans the perfect flavour is delivered. The staff helped a lot in selecting the dishes, courteous, well behaved and well-dressed. Attention to the details was taken care off and servers were knowing their menu very well. A must visit place for all Italian lover.
