Having friends is a good thing and having friends who are crazy like you when it comes to food is a blessing. I went down to Cyber hub to meet my old pals to catch some drink and spent some good time. We were roaming around and deciding which place to go, then one of my friends desired to have some Vietnamese food ( as his Gf is from Vietnam) so we adhere to the suggestion and went inside. It was my firsthand experience with this type of food, though I heard a lot about their food as my friend is working in Vietnam from the past 1.5 years.
We were greeted by the staff and shown to a spot where we adjusted our lazy ass. After discussing and getting outside help from Mmixologist Mahender Mahy we ended up having some good drinks. “Origian of Jamun” – Made with Jamun pulp, black grapes, salt and lemon – as I wished to have some chatpata drink the Mixologist presented this and it was quite good. They have their own 25 cocktails which will blow your mind apart from normal cocktails.
While sipping the drinks and chit-chatting Summer Rolls arrived. The rolls were made up of – rice paper rolls filled with seasonal vegetables, vermicelli noodles, Vietnamese herbs and served with peanut sauce (which was also amazing by the way). The size of the rolls was good and the freshness of the vegetables can be felt while eating as the flavours were bursting in the mouth.
Which just finished eating the rolls in the meantime our salad arrived Pomelo and Papaya salad. The combination of Pomel0 (fruit) and Papaya tossed with Vietnamese herbs (which was a mystery to me), peanuts and chilli dressing. If you are a salad lover then this the perfect dish for you. One cant simply misses this.
White Rose Dimsums – Soft steamed dumplings filled with ground Mung beans (kind of dals). They were so beautifully presented that my lady friend started getting clicked with the dish while we were waiting to have it. One of the most charming dish in terms of presentation for the night.
After getting clicked and finishing it I was eagerly waiting for the Crispy Tofu. Before giving any description, I would like to say the best tofu dish I had till date. The texture, the colour, and the flavour everything was perfect. Plus the portion size was very good. The tofu was so crispy and good in taste that we ordered twice. The dish had fresh tofu cubes fried to perfection and tossed in chilli hoisin sauce, brown garlic and fresh chilli. A must-try dish for the vegetarians, while writing this description I am enjoying the flavours in my mouth, the soft, silky tofu with a crispy outer covering; a pure bliss.
In mains we had Vietnamese vegetable mango curry with Jasmine Rice – the fusion of coconut and mango was going very well. The combination was perfect and with Jasmine rice, it tasted much better.
In desserts we had – Sago Pearl Jewels with Mango and Espresso Pannacotta. Both the desserts were mildly sweet and was a perfect way to end the dinner.
Hats of too Chef Vaibhav Bhargawa and the team for giving us such wonderful service. Will be coming back for Crispy Tofu and Mango curry. The chef has given the Vietnamese food an Indian touch so that it will adjust our palate which was a smart move as I think. Nevertheless, the food, service, ambience and the music everything was top-notch will love to visit again.
