Visited DS Dosa Factory CP with a bunch of my friends to have South Indian food. They do have Chinese and north Indian food as well but we thought of sticking too South Indian only.
We were greeted with Rasam which was served as a complimentary drink. It is served at the start to increase your appetite. The Rasam had a very good mix of Masala in it.
We started with mini Idli tadka – which were quite good in taste and served along with Sambar and chutneys, though we didn’t felt the need of using the Sambar with it as it was flavorful in itself and it was more on a spicier side which I loved it.
Rava Idli – The freshly prepared Rava idli too some extra time but it was worth the wait as it was too good in taste. Two Idlis were served and they were quite heavy. Loved the preparation of the Idlis
In Dosas, I was planning to have Ds Special but I saw 3 in 1 Dosa and without any second thought ordered it. I am the kind of person who loves to have varieties. The other dosas were Mysore Masala dosa and Hot Garlic masala dosa. I loved the Mysore masala dosa, and in few seconds it was gone.
In 3 in 1 one was Mysore masala, another one was simple masala and Paneer masala dosa. I liked the Paneer masala filling it was flavorful though the use of peas was uncommon to me in the filling. Still, it was giving a decent taste.
In desserts, we had Rava Kesari & Gulab Jamun, both were a good option to end the meal.
Wait Without filter coffee, how one could end the meal?? After enjoying a good filter coffee ended the meal.
The star dishes for me were Rava Idli, Mysore masala and Filter coffee which you can’t miss. Overall experience was good but it can be better, I would love to see more South Indian dishes in menu apart from Dosa and Idli which is common everywhere. The service was bit slow and need to work on presentation of the dishes too,. A good option in CP to try South Indian food for sure.
